Guess Who Just Got Invited to the Table! A Milestone for Modern Medicine

Guess Who Just Got Invited to the Table!

I’m thrilled to share that Naturopathic Medicine has been formally recognized as part of Canada’s evolving primary care landscape. Naturopathic Doctors are now featured in the newly released Compendium of Roles in Team-Based Primary Care, officially launched in April 2025 by the Canadian Health Workforce Network. You can find our profile here on page 46. This national publication highlights the diverse professionals shaping modern primary care, now proudly including Naturopathic Doctors and our role in collaborative, patient-centered care.

Bridging the Gaps in Your Circle of Care

Evidence continues to show that one of the barriers to true collaboration in primary care is a lack of awareness among providers about each other’s training, scope of practice, and therapeutic approach. That’s why I welcome the opportunity to connect directly with members of your medical team, whether that’s your family doctor, nurse practitioner, or pharmacist, to foster mutual understanding and strengthen your circle of care. If you’d like me to send an introductory letter to your provider to open this line of communication, simply let me know at your next visit.

Quote Of The Issue

Teamwork makes the dream work.” - Author John C. Maxwell

I’m deeply honoured to be part of your health journey - to listen, witness, and walk alongside you. Whether we’re working one-on-one or weaving together a team of trusted practitioners around you, I don’t take the privilege lightly. Thank you for allowing me into your circle of care.

Hi! I'm Dr. Dominika Zarzeczny, ND

First inspired by the work of Dr. Gabor Mate, Dr. Dominika has focused much of her career on helping her patients connect the dots between early adversity and trauma and their impact on lifelong health and well-being. She knows that the reversal of chronic illness involves the nervous system, and so she has dedicated her practice to helping patients master their own nervous system to positively influence their mind and body, behaviours and ultimately health outcomes. Her explanation of disease doesn't pathologize or blame, but is nuanced, humanized and filled with hope. She trained with various psychologists and experts in the field of psychological trauma. She incorporates the principles of neuroscience, attachment theory, mindfulness, Polyvagal Theory and compassionate inquiry in her approach with patients. Combining these with her naturopathic training, she likes to say that she works at the intersection of science and human experience.
